- It all started back in 2011 when I retired from the US Army. I served in the US Army for 9 years and within my 9 years of service, I was deployed to Iraq twice and to Afghanistan 4 times. I was a Combat Medic in the Army. After I retired from the military, I started breeding this Mini Highland Cattle, because this has been my dream and hobby since when I was a kid. My father owned a ranch in El Paso, Texas before he passed away. So after my retirement 8 years ago, I decided to start my own ranch in remembrance of my late father. What I started as a hobby has gradually blossomed into a full-time family endeavor as I added more Mini Highland Sires and Dams. Currently, I have children and grand-children who help to raise, train, and care for these cows and calves on daily basis. We are very concerned about the type of homes our calves will be going to as they are our major concern. Breeding these amazing calves is not just for the profit, as we refuse to give our calves out to middle men (brokers) or unskilled families. Our calves are meant to go to great families willing to share their space and hearts with our babies and we find so much joy in reading the testimonial of satisfied clients. Knowing our clients are satisfied that our calves meets or exceeded their expectations is ecstatic, a feeling we can only describe as fulfillment, as our client satisfaction is second only to breeding healthy calves on our list of priorities. My Mini Highland Cows taught me about everything a Mini Highland should be outgoing, enthusiastic, keen and always live in the moment but above all and most importantly, loving and loyal to the owner. I can say they are the best companions I’ve ever known when it comes to pet cows.
FEEDING : Mini Highland cows can withstand harsh cold temperatures in winter and hot temperatures in summer because of their fluffy mature. Their Diet consist of Grass, Hay, leaves, flowers, shrubs, browse on low hanging trees, cereal grains, or barley, wheat or corn silage.
I’m so proud to say that all of my calves are born and raised in our ranch with our children and other family members. Being raised with our family insures the calves are super friendly and well socialized and exposed to different environments. This also allows us to interact and get to know the calves individually. All our calves either live in our ranch or in guardian/foster homes when we are out of town. Please check out our website and get to know us and our calves. My family and I have a fondness for the Mini Highland Cattle, Training and socializing them as a team. Raising them in our ranch and as a team presents us with a rare opportunity at a companionship that mutually improves us (man and pet), developments such as patience and loyalty. We are committed in providing you with the most beautiful companion in our Mini Highland Calves. Home bred with our kids and other animals like horses, donkeys, goats, chicken and dogs, halter broke and well socialized, we have gone to great lengths to make sure they have the best possible start with their new families, feeding them properly and care which is second to none. We assure you, you have found with us the most lovable companion for yourself and your family. Our cows breeding program is focused on soundness of temperament, correct conformation, and health. We screen the parent cows’ hips, elbows, and entire body, and do some genetic testing such as Chrondo testing. We find that vibrant health also depends on high quality nutrition. We work closely with our veterinarians to ensure optimal health in our cows and calves.
